WOMEN WHO KILL IN SELF DEFENCE CAMPAIGN - Background

 

The Women Who Kill in Self-defence Campaign aims to address issues such as:

  • the inadequate level of support which women subject to domestic violence receive from some professionals when they seek help
  • the legal definitions of self defence and provocation and the inconsistencies in their applications
  • the limitations in the legal options available to women subject to domestic violence
  • battered women's syndrome.
